Starting instructions for a cold engine: 1. Push ahead of the chain brake. 2. Pull out the choke knob fully. 3. Switch the button on. 4. Pull out the starter handle (Max 6 times), stopping when you hear a loud motor sound. 5. Push back the choke knob fully. 6. Pull out the starter handle again (Max 20 times). 7. Chainsaw starts. 8. Pull back the chain brake, hold the throttle trigger, and trigger lockout together.

For starting a warm engine, follow steps above without steps 3, 4, and 5.

Ensure the choke knob is pushed back fully to avoid fuel flooding the spark plug and preventing the chainsaw from starting. Make sure the drive links of the saw chain fit correctly on the drive sprocket and that the chain is engaged in the groove of the guide bar before attempting to cut.
